Our Mission
To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs with all of our power to protect and advance the interest of dog shows, matches, trials, and tests. We encourage sportsmanlike competition at such events under the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club. Promoting community activities with an emphasis on canine education, safety, and the advancement of the animal welfare of purebred and companion dogs in our area.
We Are
The Upper Iowa Training Club, an AKC affiliated club in Decorah, Iowa. Our members train and show in Obedience, Agility, Conformation, Tracking, Herding, Barn Hunts, NoseWork, Lure Coursing, Weight Pull, and Rally. We have many members who actively participate in therapy visits and demonstrations at various venues. Club members also serve as trainers for local 4-H dog project clubs. Highlights in the club year include AKC Obedience and Rally shows in Decorah in April and October. We also host a Barn Hunt event in February. The club welcomes all new members who want to have fun with their dogs.
